Week 7: Create an Activity

This week we were asked to create an activity that incorporates process and production skills that our students can use. The year age I have previously used in my Design Cycle Process was Years 3 to 4. Below is the band description taken from the Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies.

For my activity, I will be linking it to the content description area: Work with others to plan the creation and communication of ideas and information safely, applying agreed ethical and social protocols.

Activity:

Students will work in pairs and access the Khan Academy site and start by viewing the Introduction to drawing. They will need to work through the stages of learning to create different shapes. Once they have completed this section, they will then be required to create one aspect from their sustainable garden design e.g. compost bin, vegetable garden, chicken pen, worm farm.

They can then complete the next stage of learning to colour in their design using the embedded codes. They will need to then apply this to their chosen aspect from the sustainable garden.
